2005年のTBSサイトの「里見八犬伝」山下翔央にインタビュー / 2005 TBS site's Shoon Yamashita "Satomi Hakkenden" interview

このインタビューは2005年の終わりにTBSのサイトに投稿した。「里見八犬伝」のページが数年前に削除されたけど、私は原文を保存した。
This interview was posted at the end of 2005 on the TBS site. The "Satomi Hakkenden" section was deleted a few years ago, but I saved the original text.

Q：今回の役柄について
山下翔央: 僕の演じる犬江親兵衛仁は14歳。実際の僕より年下ですが、この時代の14歳ってすごくしっかりしているなと感じました。一番年下だけど、強くて、能力も高くて、かっこいいいなと思います。
Q: Tell us about the role you play this time.
Shoon Yamashita: The character I play, Shinbe Inue Masashi, is 14 years old. He's actually younger than me, but I felt like he would be a very dependable and determined 14-year-old in this era. Although he is the youngest, he is strong, has great abilities, and I think he is really cool.

Q：八犬士の中では一番年下ですが…
山下翔央:八犬士も含め、みなさんが年上なので、セリフを間違えたらいけないというプレッシャーもありました。けれど、滝沢さんや皆さんに「緊張します…。」というと、「大丈夫だよ！」と言ってくれて、とてもうれしかったです。
Q: You are the youngest of the Hakkenshi...
Yes, everyone in the Hakkenshi was older than me, so I also felt this pressure to not get the lines wrong. However, when I told Takizawa and the others "I'm so nervous!", they told me "Don't worry, you'll do fine!" and I was so relieved!

Q：初めてのドラマ出演ですが、難しかった点
山下翔央:ドラマは初めてだし、時代劇はセリフが難しかったです。昔のセリフのいい回しや意味が分からないので、苦労しました。今回はアクションも多くて大変でした。
Q: This is your first time appearing in a drama. What did you find most difficult about it?
Shoon Yamashita: Yes, this is my first time doing a drama, and it's a historical drama too, so the lines were difficult. I had a hard time because I didn't know understand the phrasing and meaning sometimes. Also, there were a lot of action scenes and filming those was tough too.

Q：アクションはいかがでしたか？
山下翔央: 大変でしたけど、ワイヤーで飛んだり跳ねたりして、すごく楽しかったです。アクションシーンはいっぱいあるので楽しみにしていてください。
Q: Tell us more about the action scenes.
Shoon Yamashita: They were difficult to film, but we had a lot of fun flying and bouncing on the wires. There are a lot of action scenes, so I hope the viewers will enjoy them.

Q：苦労したこと
山下翔央: 左手が使えない（開かない）役なので、手をグーのにしたまま演技するのに苦労しました。左手をいかに上手く使って親兵衛は生きてきたのかなと考えながら演じました。
Q: Something you struggled with during the filming.
Shoon Yamashita: I was playing a role for which I couldn't fully use my left hand (I couldn't open it), so I had a hard time acting with my left hand in a fist. While filming, I reflected on how well Shinbei had to use his left hand to be able to survive.

Q：里見八犬伝で始めて馬に乗ったとのことですが、いかがでしたか？
山下翔央: 最初は怖かったです。けれど、たくさん練習して、思い通りに乗れたときはめちゃくちゃ楽しかったです。機会があったら、また乗りたいです。
Q: You rode a horse for the first time while filming "Satomi Hakkenden". How was it?
Shoon Yamashita: It was scary at first. However, I took riding lessons and worked hard on it, and when I finally felt confident it was a lot of fun. If I have the chance, I would like to do it again.

Q：衣装について
山下翔央:ワダエミさんがデザインしてくださったのですが、すごく軽いです。動きやすくて、きれいで、かっこいいと思います。
Q: Tell us about the costume you used for the drama.
Shoon Yamashita: The costumes were designed by Emi Wada, and mine was very light. It was very easy to move around in it, very beautiful, and really cool.

Q：ロケはいかがでしたか？
山下翔央:ロケが暑かったり、寒かったりするので大変でしたが、共演者のみなさんと話ができて楽しかったです。
Q: How was filming on location?
Shoon Yamashita: It was difficult because of the heat and the cold, but I had a lot of fun talking with my co-stars while we waited in between takes.

Q：親兵衛のみどころは？
山下翔央:登場シーンです。見せ場なので、みなさん見逃せませんよ！
Q: What is your favourite Shinbe scene?
Shoon Yamashita: The scene in which he makes his first appearance. It's a very climactic scene, so don't miss it!

Q：視聴者の皆様に向けて一言メッセージをお願いします
山下翔央:1月2日・3日は、『里見八犬伝』。お正月にふさわしく、豪華な作品になっていると思います。みなさん、是非みてください！！
Q: A message to the viewers.
Shoon Yamashita: “Satomi Hakkenden” will air on January 2nd and 3rd. I think it is a gorgeous production that is very fitting for the New Year, so everyone please check it out!!

犬江親兵衛仁の登場シーン / Inue Shinbe Masashi first scene

犬江親兵衛仁の登場シーンは本当に迫力のあるシーンです。翔央くんのスタントと殺陣はさすがカッコよかったよ！ そして、彼の演技は素晴らしかったと思う。表情豊かな目で役の感情を伝えたし、せりふの言い方がとても上手でした。
The scene in which Shinbe appears is a very powerful scene. Shoon's stunts and sword-fighting were really cool, as one could expect from him. He managed to convey his character's emotions through his expressive eyes and delivered his lines very convincingly.
